Disney has dropped the first teaser for its upcoming live-action Moana, giving fans their first real look at the new take on the 2016 animated classic. In the trailer, Catherine Lagaʻaia shines as Moana in her film debut,

The teaser gives us several key scenes that fans of the original will recognize. We see young Moana meeting the ocean for the first time. We get our first look at the kakamora coconut warriors. The most successful Disney remakes have been the ones that have been the most faithful to the source material, and Moana looks to be going that route.

Disney’s “Moana” live-to-film concert comes to Cerritos on Nov. 15, and the star singer of the concert is a homegrown artist, Nina Sosefina. The concert is a medley of all the songs from the Disney animated hit sung by Sosefina.
