With two weeks left in the 2025 regular season, only one team has clinched a division title. Here's a look at the NFL playoff picture in Week 17.
The NFC is incredibly crowded – and while the conference is wide-open, there are plenty of good teams vying for the top seed. The question is, who will that team be, and are they good enough to take advantage of the home games they will receive?
1. Kyle Shanahan, 49ers: The 49ers have made a good showing every year and were in position to win every playoff game he has coached other than the NFC title game against the Eagles when Brock Purdy left with an elbow injury in the first quarter.
4. Carolina Panthers (8-7), NFC South leaders: Their defeat of the Bucs on Sunday moved them into first place. They can win the division next week with a win and Tampa Bay loss. A Week 18 defeat of the Buccaneers would also do the job regardless of circumstances. Remaining schedule: vs. Seahawks, at Buccaneers
With only two weeks left in the 2025 NFL season, the playoff picture is beginning to come into focus. While several playoff berths have been clinched, division titles and No. 1 seeds remain up for grabs.
The Lions can only make the playoffs as the 7-seed, which will play the 2-seed in the wild-card round. Currently the 2-seed is the Bears, who have clinched a playoff berth and are a win OR a Packers loss away from winning the NFC North.
