Tonight’s episode is hosted by Glen Powell, who is starring in the latest adaptation of The Running Man as well as the Hulu show Chad Powers. Powell previously appeared on the show last year when Sydney Sweeney hosted. (At the time, I said he should be hosting !)

Saturday Night Live' opened with President Trump talking about blocking food stamps and canceling flights amid the ongoing government shutdown.

While no sketch goes perfectly, the way SNL is editing its episodes once they hit online feels like the show's cutting out part of its soul.

Cher last appeared as the musical guest on “SNL” just ahead of Thanksgiving 1987, 38 years ago. In the time since, she has returned to “SNL” in a cameo capacity on multiple occasions, most recently in 2011.

In addition to Glaser, the November 8 episode also featured another SNL first-timer in musical guest Sombr, as well as a familiar face in former castmember Pete Davidson, who appeared on Weekend Update to roast his own Staten Island Ferry fiasco.
